‘Forward Thinking’ planning meeting

Background

Our ICCS EM Regional Action Plan will come to an end next year so we must now begin the preparing our Action Plan for the years 2013 – 2018.

It is proposed to use the Scenario Foresight Process – this is an internationally accepted framework used in identifying strategic options for the future.

The Scenario Foresight Process is aimed at generating a sense of direction. It involves the formulation of a Strategic Question, which is used as the basis for discussion in developing an understanding of the future, by exploring uncertainties, key trends, and influences that affect the way the future evolves.

The process is also designed to identify and develop strategic options that will help us to meet the demands placed on our EuroMed Region in the coming years.

Aim

The aim of the ‘Forward Thinking’ planning meeting is to develop a robust strategy for the sustainable development of our EuroMed Region until the year 2018. The meeting will focus on the identification of needs and the development of a programme of actions designed to provide practical support to member associations of our European- Mediterranean Region.
