Scout Week in Taizé 2011 announced

21. November 2010

Mondorf-les-Bains/Taizé The Europe-Mediterranean Region of the International Catholic Conference of Scouting (ICCS-EM) announced the next Scout Week in Taizé during its Council meeting in Mondorf-les-Bains/Luxembourg. The Scout Week will be held from 17th to 24th July 2011 in Taizé/France and targets rovers and young leaders aged between the ages of 17 to 30.

The Scout Week in Taizé is a joint initiative of the ICCS and the Community of Taizé and took place for the first time in the year 2009. Since then Scouts from all European countries and the Mediterranean Region regularly come together in Taizé for this event. There they take part in the weekly youth meetings and discover together their spiritual roots. The Scout Week in Taize has been designed to help young scout leaders to view their daily life in the light of the Gospel: praying together three times a day, reflecting on the wellsprings of the faith, exploring the Promise, the Law, and the Principles of Scouting. Common activities like hikes, games and singing are also part of the programme as-well-as learning to know the diverse traditions of the other Scouts.
